Class 5-6 Teacher

Looking to join ‘a thriving and harmonious community which exemplifies many of the best aspects of Steiner Waldorf education’?
(SIS inspection Report 2018)
There is a place for you here.
Cambridge Steiner School seeks a skilled, enthusiastic and committed individual to teach its established combined Class 5/6.  As they enter the middle school years, this group of eager young learners need a teacher who can creatively challenge and caringly guide them, who can inspire and lead them, fire their imaginations and stimulate their growing curiosity about the world they live in.
A Place of Innovation and Growth: In 2016 the school was granted permission to extend its educational provision from Class 5 to Class 8. The school aspires to develop an Upper School in the near future and is interested in pursuing the full ACTS diplomas. The ACTS Project is breaking new ground in the field of pupil assessment with its innovative suite of proposed qualifications for 14-18 year olds.  Cambridge Steiner School seeks to keep abreast of the many advances within education and is continually looking to enhance its curriculum and assessment tools to the benefit of both the pupils, and their teachers.  The recent inspection report commented on the outstanding quality of the school’s curriculum, making particular reference to its Outdoor Classroom programme, lesson planning and assessment, and the problem-solving approach to learning which permeates the curriculum.
A Place to Thrive: The enthusiasm and interest of our teachers, and therefore our pupils, has been a driving force behind many recent school developments.   The school’s lateral management structures, supported by a dedicated team of trustees, ensure that its valued staff members have the opportunity to contribute to the wider growth of the school.  The Lower School class teachers are supported by an invested team of specialist subject teachers and classroom assistants; the school also operates a mentorship and appraisal programme which seeks to support all teachers in their work and professional development.
