Financial contribution - 2009/2010

Cambridge Steiner School is an independent school that relies solely on parental input and contributions (financial and otherwise) for its financial and environmental wellbeing. The school aspires to be able to offer the best Steiner/Waldorf education that it can within the resources available to it. The provision of those resources is a community responsibility.

*All 3 (aged 3 on or before 31st August) and 4 year olds may be entitled to a Government grant for up to 5 sessions a week. Elderflower kindergarten is initially planning to visit the woods for two days each week, and an extra charge of £3.50 per visit will be made to cover the additional staffing costs required. As the year progresses theses arrangements will be reviewed, and may be revised.

Other financial responsibilities

  1. A per-family deposit of £500 is required before a child starts at the school.
  1. In order for the children to have access to good quality learning an annual materials charge of £150 is made.
  1. Some items such as field trips, camps and personal educational items (recorders etc) may be charged separately.

Sibling Discounts

Sibling discounts will be available for children in the lower school (Classes 1-5), with a 20% discount for a second child, and 50% for a third child. Parents will be invited to gift aid this discount to the school where possible.

Please note that sibling discounts will no longer be available for children attending the kindergartens. This change reflects the large number of other grants available for early years children, and the availability of bursaries within the school discussed below.
